BLOGIVERSARY: Cuttlebug Challenge!

My most favourite challenge of this series!!   My Sister in Law turns 30
tomorrow so I thought I could get creative with her card and design it with this challenge in mind.

I used Designer’s Calendar for the number 30 in a cricle frame – I hadn’t realized before how great this cartridge could be for creating birthday cards!!! …unless they get older than 31! LOL
To create the card base I welded two of the circle tags together so that their tags were overlapping, then I hid the contours of the holes that would normally cut out if you were creating the tags.  The other cut I needed was a circle to match the size of my “thirty” circle, in clear plastic.

Now onto the fun stuff!! I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the front of my card base with various Happy Birthday phrases, and then (since it was Core-dinations cardstock) I sanded the embossed areas to bring out the lighter shade of purple (see photo).  Next I embossed the plastic cricle, and then finally the thirty and its circle.   I decided when I started that I would make this a *shaker* card so after I adhered the plastic circle to the thiry circle, I used a roll double sided foam to go around the frame of the thirty circle on the back.  I embossed some teeny punched out stars and put them along with some glitter into the middle of the card front (see photo) and then added the dimensional front to the base.  Shake shake shake go the glitter and stars inside!!! 🙂

I added some Recollections flowers and jewels to the front, and inside of the card, to finish it off.
I am so happy with how it turned out!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
