I had so much fun creating these cards! More importantly, I could not wait to share them with you! It’s been so long since I was able to share something CTMH and stamping related! Not that I haven’t been creating, I seem to have been sucked into a world of germs and every spare moment I’ve been trying to rest up. Christmas is coming whether I’m ready or not, though, so I’ve got a few cards to share over the next couple weeks!!
For these cards, I used me Gypsy to create a simple design for the front: a simple rectangle and shapes from the Artiste cartridge
To create my own backgrounds to place behind the cuts, I used a stamp from Universal Backgrounds and CTMH cardstock. I chose to use Cashmere Ink on Cranberry and Sweet Leaf cardstock.
I trimmed the pieces of my new background paper to fit in the spaces I needed and adhered them to the card front. Here’s a look at the strips of paper I cut before they were trimmed down:
I wanted a little more dimension for these star cards so I used Creme Brulee for the musical notes and the same colour to shade the edges of the star (what would be shown on the inside of the cut out) using a sponge dauber.
I love the effects of the recessed images on the cards! So crisp!
Thanks for stopping by!
What a great concept! Love these cards!
I love the idea of planning the layout using the Gypsy before cutting it! I’ll have to remember it!
Amazing work, I love the use of the stencil.
Beautiful cards!!! Great design!!! Love them both!!! ~Sophia
