The current monthly challenge for Cricut Circle is to create a “scene” using cricut cuts and since I have been wanting to do something with this photo (possibly my favourite Summer photo!), I decided to go ahead and give it a try! I’ve never really created a “scene” on any of my layouts before… not knowingly lol – I’ll have to go back and look!!
It was fun to create different elements and even characters that worked together on the page. Jaime used to have a big mural of a turtle on her wall when we were in high school so I was drawn to the turtle image in the Life’s a Beach cartridge when I was searching for beachy or pool themed images. I decided to have a Mommy turtle, Daddy turtle, and little baby turtle for Colby hanging out on this page. I used Cuttin’ Up to create the title, and Life’s a Beach again for the waves and sand bucket. I had some thick mulberry paper that I wanted to incorporate for water as well so I used some layers of it behind my cut out waves. Last but not least I added some sparkle to the bottom of the sand with Distress Stickles (I swear this looks better in person than it does in the photo).
Thanks for stopping by!!

Thank you, Jaime!! 🙂
