One Stamp Set; So Many Options!

The Remarkable Wreath stamp set was one of my very first wish list items when I started using Close to My Heart products.  I love when something is versatile – when I can use something for more than one specific purpose, I’m much more likely to invest in it.  What first drew me to this set was the variety of seasons it represented.  Once I got the set, I remembered something I had in my stash that might work well in combination with the stamps.  What’s that you ask??  Flowersoft!  I only have one little container of this stuff but wish I had it in every colour!  I learned more about it from the company when I attended CHA last year and love how it brings dimension and texture to these cards!

Onto my flowersoft adventure!!!   My first tip for working with these itty bitty pieces is to have a larger container to store it in once you’ve opened it.  It takes on a life of it’s own once you open the container and seems to multiply!  Trust me, there’s no way you’re going to get it all back into the original container, unless maybe if you’ve got a vacuum sealer!   That said, a little goes a long way, and I wouldn’t mind investing in some more since it seems to last a very long time.

The process is pretty simple, and very similar to applying glitter.  I stamped my wreath image and the banner I wanted to include, and then instead of stamping the flowers, berries or leaves, I put dots of glue onto various branches.  While the glue was still wet, I picked up some flower soft with my fingers (it’s a good idea to kind of “massage” the fibers between your fingers before picking it up – this way, they separate and kind of fluff up) and sprinkled onto the image.  Be generous!  You’ll just tap off the excess and anything that doesn’t stick can be put back in your container.

You can go in after with more glue and more flowersoft if you want to fill spaces.  I was experimenting so I have a few different variations.  I’m definitely going to need more colours soon!  lol
