Well, here it is!! I have the incredible honour of being the Guest Designer for the month of June over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges! You’ve seen many of my entries into their challenges before because they always offer such great inspiration and a kickstart to get your creative juices flowing. I am so excited to be a part of the inspiration for the next 4 challenges! So without further ado, here’s our first challenge for the month of June!!
This week’s challenge was a colour challenge – create a project that is black and white, with a pop of colour (your choosing). I think my current favourite colour from the CTMH exclusive palette is Lagoon, so I chose that as my “pop” 😉
I used the Art Philosophy cartridge along with some coordinating stamps from Hooray Bouquet for my flowers – I absolutely love that the carrier sheet for the stamps tells me exactly what size to cut my image out at for a perfectly matched shape for my stamp! I cut out three different sizes and then used Lagoon Ink to stamp each different flower. I used a piece of sponge and the Black ink to distress all of my edges.
I adhered the piece of footloose paper to the bottom edge of the black mat and attached an extra piece of white ribbon to the card before adhering the panel to the card base. I wanted to add a little something to the flowers so I used some clear buttons in varying sizes to accent each one. I attached them using a paper piercer and black hemp. (Here’s a tip – once you have a small hole from the paper piercer, you can use it as a guide to make slighter larger holes with a tiny handheld hole punch, so you have an easier time getting the hemp through).
Before attaching my flowers, I stamped my birthday sentiment in White Daisy ink. Don’t forget to either give this ink time to dry, or heat set it before you start playing with it as it takes a while to dry! I love how vibrant this white ink shows up on dark colours though! I added the second half of the sentiment to the inside of the card in Lagoon ink to coordinate.
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you’re feeling inspired to enter the challenge too!
