September Monthly Challenge: Window Dressing

The challenge for September over on the Circle Blog was to incorporate a window element into a project.  I decided to do a card, and got out my Gypsy to design!  I used the butterfly blackout image from Give a Hoot.  I cut it out once as part of the card base, and then again within a rectangle for my background (a beautiful shimmery teal!).  I used “Coffee Bean” dew drop ink to ink up the edges of my cardstock, including the negative space of the butterfly – I wanted to be sure it stood out!

Since I had the cut made on my actual card base, and the background paper, I was able to sandwhich a thin sheet of clear pastic between the two in order to create an actual window.   Now you can’t imagine how excited I was that I had the perfect ribbon in my stash – the exact colours I was using, without planning ahead!!!  LOL   I love walking over to my stash and finding just the right piece!! 🙂  It is printed ribbon from Colorbök.

I used a stamp from Fiskars’ Good Time Quotes with Staz On ink for the sentiment and lastly, I added some pearl accents to create the butterfly’s flight path and add a little punch to the corners 🙂

Thanks for stopping by again!!
