Welcome back!! This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges, we’re using ribbon!! I have to admit that I’m a bit of a ribbon addict… I can never seem to get enough of it – I have rolls and rolls, AND ROLLS of it all over my studio and I still find myself working on a project thinking I don’t have the “right” ribbon. So far there are 4 things I can think of that you can’t ever have too much of as a crafter… Paper/Cardstock, Adhesive, Gems/Pearls, and Ribbon! …ooh and cartridges… and scissors…. and….. we’ll save that discussion for another post! lol
On with the project!! … Unfortunately I needed to make some sympathy cards this week – I always mean to make a handful of these to always have on hand, because they’re never fun to make. I never seem to have one when I need it though. I made a few like these to keep in my stash for now.
I used Art Philosophy for the butterflies – the layer on this one is so intricate and beautiful 🙂 I misted my cuts with a pearl mist before adhering them to my card. For my ribbon, I used some from my stash that matched the purple shades of my butterflies. Liquid Pearls was used for accents, and the sentiment is from Card Chatter: Sympathy, inked in Purple Pansy.
I’ve also made a sympathy card in the past using the same sentiment, but the other butterfly from Art Philosophy, as seen here:
Thanks so much for stopping by – I hope to see your entries over on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog!
Love your cards. I know what you mean about sympathy cards. I seem to never have one. I love that butterfly and the overlay. I have used it many times for Party deco and scrapbook pages. Thanks for sharing your talents.

Very pretty sympathy cards–I find these the most difficult to create sometimes. At first I thought the ribbon was pleated paper since it has such dimension to it! Butterflies are always my favorites as signs of “new life”!
